Idiot Convention zou iedereen willen bedanken die afgelopen weekend geholpen heeft bij het realiseren van Idiot Fest: toeschouwers, helpers, tappers, bands, jeugdhuis IFI,... Bedankt!
Dankzij jullie kunnen we 350 euro schenken aan Make-a-Wish Belgium Vlaanderen. Dat geld zal worden gebruikt om wensen van kinderen met een levensbedreigende ziekte te helpen vervullen, zodat zij voor eventjes hun ellende kunnen vergeten.

Nu we toch formeel aan het speechen zijn, virtueel weliswaar, hebben we meteen ook droevig of heuglijk nieuws (kies zelf maar wat van toepassing is): Na 10 jaar herrie maken, houden we het voor bekeken. Wie ons nog een keertje aan het werk wil zien, kan dat nog op 1 december in Antwerp Music City. Daarna is het game over. Oprechte dank aan iedereen die ons de afgelopen 10 jaar heeft gesteund, getolereerd, geboekt, gekocht, gedraaid, gevoed, vervoerd, vervloekt en te slapen heeft gelegd. Dank u wel!

It is november 3rd 2016 as I'm typing this. Earth is still populated by an incredible amount of fuckheads. Stupid shit continues to hit the fan. Some breweries still produce nice beer. A few awesome people are organising gigs instead of wasting their time on "social" media bullshit-accumulating, mind-numbing, ego-trip-promoting, lie-to-the-world-and-especially-to-yourself websites. So no reason for us, in Idiot Convention, to call it a day yet. We'll keep playing some shows every once in a while. Probably at least one in 2017. Maybe more. Maybe even beyond 2017. So if you are in need of an almost Grammy Award quality level band, try to contact us and we'll try to entertain you. Until then: don't let the assholes take over. Read some books. So we will be playing a show to celebrate te release of our "Choppin' many suckers" EP.
On friday the 12th of february 2016, we will be f*cking something up at café 't Karrewiel in Merchtem. That something could be ourselves, you, our songs, your relationship,... Whatever. Entrance will cost you 0 euro and the Priceduifkes will be playing too. All this at a bar with lots of excellent beers. Yippie ki-yay! And if we don't forget them at home, the EP's will be for sale at the gig.

After years of slacking, it finally happened: recordings from 2013 of songs written years before that were pressed onto pink vinyl seven inches earlier in 2015 and today they were shoved in their printed sleeves that arrived on the doorstep of the IxC headquarters yesterday! Holy shit. Didn't see that one coming did you?

These records will be sold for 5 euro each at our shows. And yes, we are losing money on this one, so thanks for not asking. Ask our drummer if you want to buy one. While we are at it: maybe we should play some more shows if we don't want to spend the rest of our lives with 107 unsold EP's... So if you want us to play at your show, drop us a line. It might aswell become the official release party of this super swell record!

Out of control in Brussels.

another band that wouldn't die...

2015. It seems that the band Idiot Convention is still around. After a very long coma (mainly caused by extreme laziness) we recently played another show. In Brussels that was. And afterwards we had some beers. And we ate fries. And had another beer. The perks of being rockstars...
Enough bullshitting. We're playing some more shows. Confirmed so far: 3rd of july in The Pit's (Kortrijk) with Shitler from Finland and september 18th at den Bristol in Gent with Citizens Patrol and The Shining from Holland. We might be doing some more gigs this year. Or maybe we won't. Who knows? Who cares? Oh, and guess what, maybe our EP will be released in 2015. But then we'll have to do a release show and stuff... Ah, the stress of being rockstars...

The recordings for the "Choppin' Many Suckers" EP are currently on a trip to the US where they will be mastered. On saturday the 18th of May, we will be playing at Grof Grief @ de Redekiel in Maldegem.
And at the end of the summer, we might do a couple of gigs in the UK, where we will be dancing the horlepiep on the Iron Lady's grave. That's it for now.

Our fieldtrip to the Czech Republic!
